It's Google's world; we just live there

While I don't really think Google is on a mission of world domination, I could be wrong. One thing's certain: Given how many pies the company now has slices of, it's easy to see why Google's critics are concerned. Google is the web's pre-eminent search engine, of course, but there are worries about the fairness of its search results and how well it protects (and collects) personal data. Google's Chrome web browser is beginning to make the Firefox versus Internet Explorer argument seem irrelevant. If not for the Apple iPhone, Google Android-powered smartphones would be the gadgets of desire for anyone looking to do more than just make calls. Now it appears that Google also wants to drive your car for you, tell you what to watch on TV, and provide the electric power that makes everything go. Okay.
